About this beta

BID PARTY is a fictional auction game. The $20 budget is play money. This beta has no real-money bets, prizes, payments or advertising. Celebrity casts, ratings and role presets are game mechanics, not official ratings or endorsements.

Online rooms

The server stores a hash derived from your random guest identity or signed-in account identity, your chosen name, room settings, cards, budget, votes and room session statistics. Names, purchased cards and budgets are visible to other room members. Hidden future cards and identity tokens are not returned to other members.

Rooms become inaccessible after 24 hours. Expired room data is removed in batches when new rooms are created; physical deletion may happen later than expiry.

Guest cookie

A Secure, HttpOnly cookie remembers your guest identity for seven days in the same browser. No email or password is required. Clearing the cookie prevents you from reclaiming the previous guest seat. Room expiry remains 24 hours.

On your device

Your nickname, sound preference and unfinished local match are saved in browser storage. Local matches can be resumed within 24 hours. Clearing site data removes device settings and saved matches, but does not delete server rooms.

Accounts, XP & leaderboard

Signing in with ChatGPT lets you create a player profile. The server stores your hashed site identity, nickname, profile dates, leaderboard visibility choice and verified Quick Match and AI Arena results. Public leaderboard entries include nickname, match count, wins and XP. You can hide your entry in Account settings. Your email is not published or stored in the player profile. Unexpired online guest rooms can be explicitly recovered in Account settings using the guest cookie in the same browser. Local practice scores are not promoted to ranked progress.

Hourly tournaments

Each entry stores your account identity, event, room, score, spend, filled slots, rank and championship points. Events recur hourly based on server time. Rankings are finalized when tournament pages or championship standings are next requested after the closing time. Tied scores use lower spend and then more filled slots; exact ties share rank. Hiding your public leaderboard profile also replaces your name with Private player in event standings. There are no cash prizes.

Usage analytics & owner dashboard

The site records a hashed browser/account identifier, date and timestamp when the game is opened, deduplicated per visitor per minute. These records measure browser/account identities, not exact people. The owner can see aggregated traffic and player nicknames with Arena statistics. No ad provider is connected and no rewarded-video completions are recorded. We do not record your IP address in these analytics tables.

Room expiry does not delete account profiles, Arena results or usage analytics. These records persist to support progress and reporting. Account settings provide an authenticated deletion action for your profile, results, tournament entries, reports and account-linked analytics. It closes private friend rooms containing your seat. Public Quick Match and tournament tables remain playable for others, with your seat renamed Deleted player and detached from your account. Past auction events may retain the nickname used during play until room expiry. A minimal hashed tournament-entry ticket is retained until that tournament ends to prevent repeat attempts after account deletion; it contains no nickname, score or profile. Your ChatGPT account is unchanged; device-local practice data remains until you clear it. The owner dashboard is protected by a server-side sign-in and owner allowlist check.

Photos

Card images are retrieved from Wikimedia. Each available image links to its source file, author and licence. Photographs and illustrations retain their original licences. The image-credit link opens the full attribution and reuse terms. Missing or unverified images are labelled; no unrelated image is substituted.

Images load from Wikimedia servers, which receive ordinary network request information such as your IP address. Our image elements suppress the page referrer. Images may be unavailable when an external source is down.

Exports & feedback

Draft exports are generated on your device. Sharing only happens when you choose it. The feedback form sends your report, issue type, optional room code and device description to the owner’s private inbox. Reports are associated with your hashed account or guest identity and are rate-limited to five per hour. The owner can mark reports resolved. Avoid including sensitive personal information in names or custom lists.
